Coogee Bay Driving School offers a driving test package for $165, which includes:
Pick up from your chosen location
45 minute pre-test drive lesson
Use of your instructor's vehicle for the driving test
Drop off at your chosen location
This package is is available to all Coogee Bay Driving School customers who have taken or who will take regular driving lessons.
If you would prefer to learn in your own vehicle, you can choose to do so, provided that you are a competent driver and your vehicle is roadworthy, clean and registered. You may also choose to the use the driving instructor's vehicle which is fitted with dual controls for added safety, at no extra cost.
For the New South Wales (RMS) Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) start by clicking
. The test can be done as many times as required. The test is FREE.
After your first lesson the Coogee Bay Driving School driving instructor will be in a position to assess how many driving lessons you should take based on the following:
Previous driving experience (if any)
Confidence level
How quickly you appear to learn and master driving techniques.
A New Driver (no experience)
If you have had no driving experience, we recommend a minumum of 7 to 10 nhours of driving lessons with an accredited driving instructor. For less confident learner drivers, it is not unusual to log up to 20 hours of instruction. People learn at different rates of ability, and it is important to make sure you are competent in what you have been taught in your driving lessons, not just for your driver's test but to be a safe and competent driver.
A New Driver (some experience)
We recommend at leat 5 to 7 hours of driving lessons with an accredited driving instructor, to fine-tune your skills and prepare for your driving test.
An International Driver's Licence Holder
In most occassions International Driver's Licence Holder's book approximately 2 to 3 hours of driving instruction to prepare for the drivers's test in NSW. (Note) ther has been a high rate of failure in this category, so we recommend starting with at least 3 ot 5 hours of driving lessons before attempting the driving test.
When you participate in structured driving lessons with Cooge Bay Driving School in NSW you can record 3 hours of driving exprience in your logbook for each 1 hour of driving instruction. The maximum number of hours you may take up this bonus offer for is a total of 10 hours of structured driving lessons giving you a total of 30 hours recorded in your logbook. After this bonus offer has been used up, each 1 hour of driving instruction thereafter is only recorded as 1 hour of driving instruction in you logbook.
Note: If any of this type of driving lesson is drivien at night (between sunset and sunrise), you can only record 1 hour of this lesson in your log book as night driving. The remaining bonus 2 hours is recorded in your log book as day driving exprience.

If you choose either booking for a 1 Hour Lesson only or a Pre-Test Lesson and Test you will be taken to a section to fill out your details and make you payment.
If you wish to choose either of the 5 Lesson or10 LessonPackages you need to go to the top of the page and set up and account prior to choosing the package. When you have set up you account go back to the package you wish to choose and click on it. Follow the prompts through as they appear (eg. date and time of first lesson, etc.) and it will book your first lesson for you and credit either the remaining 4 or 9 lessons for later.
To book further lessons whn you are ready to book the programme will recognise your name and email and deduct a further lesson from your credits until all you lessons have been booked.
When you have used up you credited lessons and you wish to book more the next time you try to book lessons you will be prompted to make further payment for either of the service (number of lessons) you are requesting.

Coogee Bay Driving School instructors are happy to provide driving lessons in you own vehicle as long as they feel safe and you vehicle meet certain criteria.
Learning in your own vehicle is likely to be support by your instructor if:
You are a confident and experienced learn driver about to take your driving test
You are and experienced driver on a provisional or unrestricted licence
You have a new car for familiarise yourself with'You have driven extensively oveseas and are confident on Australian roads
Learning to drive in your own vehicle is not suitable for inexperienced or new learner drivers.
Your vehicle must be registered, roadworthy, comprehensively insured and clean. Coogee Bay Driving School instructors reserve the right to refuse instruction in your vehicle if they believe your driving skills or vehicle condition are a safety risk.
The Coogee Bay Driving School instructor may wish to conduct 1 or more lessons in their own vehicle prior to providing driving lessons in your vehicle.
To learn in your own vehicle, simply add a lesson note or contact Coogee Bay Drving School after confirming your booking.
All of our driving instructors welcome the opportunity to provide driving lessons to learner drivers who have not driven before. We believe this is a sensible approach to learner driving as the initial stages of learning to drive can be the most challenging and having a professional by your side provides confidence to the student.
Family and friends can help you gain futher driving experience after you have learnt the basics and have some confidence behind the wheel.
Coogee Bay Driving School accepts payment by debit and credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. Payments can also be made by PayPal. When you choose to make your payment you will be taken to PayPal to use either your debit/credit card or your PayPal account if you have one.
To begin your learner driving experience payment(s) for lessons must be made at time of booking your online spot(s).
The Coogee Bay Driving School online booking procedure allows you reschedule bookings but this must be done at least 6 hours prior to your already placed booking. Should you have problems with this procedure please contact us as soon as possible to assist you.
Yes, driving instructors at Coogee Bay Driving School will teach driving skills to all ranges of student. Reasons for engaging a driving instructor are varied and not only for learner drivers.
Examples of these can be:
Licenced drivers who haven't regularly drivien for a long time (refresher)
Licenced drivers sho's skills, road ruls knowledge or confidence requires a boost.
Licenced drivers who have moved to a busier location and require a confidence boost driving in more complex traffic (familiarisation)
Licenced drivers who want to learn to drive a manual transmission vehicle
Book an ordinary driving lesson to referesh your driving skills. Please note at time of booking for lesson(s) your needs and situation.
The Coogee Bay Driving School platform is designed to provide you with flexible scheduling. We understand that things can change.
After you have created your Coogee Bay Driving School account and made your payment you can log in anytiime to book driving instruction courses are your require. This include cancellations and rescheduling.
Cancellations and Rescheduling:
You can log into you account and cancel or reschedule any driving lesson booking up to 6 hours before you are due to commence your lesson. The full lesson will be credited back to your account for you to reschedule your lesson at a later date.

Coogee Bay Driving School aims to accomodate and reasonabel request. If both the driving lesson pickup and drop off locations are within the driving instructors servic aream you can be confident your request can be fulfilled.
You can confirm your pick-up and drop off locations are within the Coogee Bay Driving School sevice areas by chekcin the instruction coverage map.
We will receive your driving lesson pickup location duting your booking process. Please make a note on your booking that you are requesting a different point for drop off.
Your driving instructor will always provide a learning envronment that you are comfortable with. If you are nervous about driving or hav enever driven before, your driving instructor will find somewhere quiet to assess your skills and confidence levels.
Progression from quieter areas to more complex traffic situations is only gong to occur at the pace you are comfortable with. The driving instructor will at all times consider your, and their safety.
Should you live in an area of high traffic usage and you are concerned, let us know at your time of booking your course and book a 2 hour driving lesson to allow more time to travel to a quieter area. You can also discuss this with us via the normal contact channels.
You can book driving lessons as soon as you have obtained your Learners licence. You do not require any prior driving experience to undertake driving lesson.
As soon as you begin learning with a professional driving instructor, the better your experience as a learner will be. Driving lesson help you to become a better driver. Many learner drivers take driving lesson to help them prepare for their driving test.
Coogee Bay Driving School welcomes the opportunity to assist any licence holder (all types) to provide a skills or confidence boost. Driving lessons upskill everyone, not just holders of a Learner licence.
If you are an International Driver's Licence holder you should confirm with your locak state/territory authority that you are currently permitted to drive on Australian road prior to booking driving lessons.
If you have already booked driving lessons with Coogee Bay Driving School via the online platform your will have created an online account. You can simply login to your account at any time and purchase or schedule more driving lessons in your area.

Driving lessons can be booked for a duration or 1 or 2 hours. For new learner drivers or learner drivers with a little less confidence, we strongly recommend initially booking 1 hour lessons only.
Discounts are available for learner drivers who purchase Multiple Package driving lessons. You are able to book any combination of 1 hour or 2 hour driving lessons.
The duration of your driving lesson is measured from the time you are picked up until the time your dropped off (Pickup and Drop off from your chosen location).
